Bio
Composer, Musician, Educator, Producer. Classical pianist rewired... Ambient. Electroacoustic. Visual. New Age Progressive/Alternative. Kathy Raimey (aka Kathy Gleim in Real Life, and, Leanna Luftig in Second Life) has released 2 CD's, "Flowers of Fire" in 2001, and, "It Is Always Now" in 2007. "It Is Always Now" ranked in the Top 100 for 2008 New Age Airplay, peaking at #11 in April. It listed #1 at Music Choice, "Soundscapes" in June and August 2008 and remained on the top 10 there for 6 months. ASCAP credits include promo/commercial cues on "the CW" TV network, and airplay on Music Choice "Soundscapes" TV channel.
About
As a classically trained pianist, former bassoonist, clarinetist, church organist, wanna-be band/orchestra director and incurable nerd, Kathy teaches piano and writes music that doesn't easily fit into one category. She loves exploring the effect of music as an agent of healing, and the power of the creative process as manifested through improvisation. She is looking for networking, friends, collaboration opportunities, and general chatting regarding issues in the Ambient/New Age, and TV/Film music industry.
