    The Tuscaloosa New Music Collective is pleased to announce that the incredible guitarist Paul Bowman will be joining us for a concert of (mostly) new music! This concert will feature new music by Mark Delpriora, Nicholas Deyoe, Jeff Nichols, Marco Smaili, and Katerina Stamatelos. In addition, Paul will be premiering brand new works by Derek Holden and Greg Robin. This is sure to be an evening of incredible music, and we would love for you to attend!

    Guitarist Paul Bowman presents an evening of contemporary guitar repertoire at Harold Golen Gallery. Concert organizer: FETA Foundation Paul Bowman was trained at the Manhattan School of Music in classical guitar with the triumvirate Faculty at the time of Sharon Isbin, Manuel Barrueco and Carlos Barbosa-Lima. He also immersed himself in the New York Uptown New Music scene, playing with such ensembles as The Group for Contemporary Music, The New Music Consort, Ensemble Sospeso. Recent endeavors include a D.M.A. in Contemporary Performance from U.C. San Diego; extensive performing and recording with flutist Harvey Sollberger and new solo works by upcoming composers Derek Holden, Greg Robin, Nicholas Deyoe, and Aaron Gervais, as well as the more established composers such as Jeff Nichols, Harvey Sollberger, Yehuda Yannay and Ursula Mamlok, to name a few. He was First Prize Winner at the VI International Classical Guitar Competition, "Casa d'España" in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a top prize winner at the Guitar Foundation of America Competition. Paul lives in the rural mountains of western North Carolina in his custom-built "A" frame house on 4 acres, and assists his wife Annamaria in running a chicken sanctuary and rescue. www.paul-classicalguitarist.com

    Passionate classical guitarist Paul Bowman will host a special workshop and concert Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Winthrop University. Bowman’s workshop will focus on composing music for classical guitar. It begins at 11 a.m. in Frances May Barnes Recital Hall. His recital, which will feature music mostly by 20th century composers, will begin at 7:30 p.m. The recital also includes three pieces written specifically for Bowman. Both the workshop and recital are free and open to the public. The recital is a cultural event.
