Q: I'm an old grandpa who grew up listening to Leon Rausch singing on the radio with Bob Wills. Are you related? Fred Hale (one of you FaceBook fans)
A: The short answer is YES! The long answer is that the birth spelling of Leon's name is "Rauch" (as opposed to mine, "RauSch." When he started getting radio play, he added the "S" in because DJ's were pronouncing incorrectly. However, in communications with Leon, we determined that we are from the same stock of "Rausch's" in southern Germany. The spelling with the "S" included is the original German spelling. Once folks got off the boats in America, spellings started becoming distorted. There's your history lesson for the day! :) I love Leon. He has heard my music and we have exchanged personal messages. Pretty neat!
