The Power of Music Project Announces Celebration Concert starring 10 Emerging Regional Teenage Singer Songwriters and featuring Louisville's kRi and hettie. LOUISVILLE, KY - The Power of Music Project (POMP!) is a 6-month workshop where 10 members of the next generation of the region's young singer songwriters gathered regularly to develop their voices and create songs inspired by service and compassion. A celebration concert sponsored by 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville has been scheduled for Headliners Music Hall on Sunday, May 18 at 5 pm. The general public is invited to attend. At this exciting live show each of the ten young artists will perform original songs sharing the stage with one other as well as with program facilitators Louisville-based recording artists kRi and hettie. Throughout their POMP 6 month experience these young artists received mentoring and support from established producers, recording artists and other professionals including Houndmouth, Carly Johnson and Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Along the way they each gave back by performing community service hours equal to the time spent in these workshops. Community service experiences included perspective shifting projects with Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Louisville Grows and Project Warm. The result for the teen participants was a rich and diverse experience instilling values rooted in service and compassion which informed and evolved their ongoing creative projects. Additional program details are available at ThePowerofMusicProject.com. The Power of Music Project is facilitated by it's founders Louisville-based recording artists kRi and Hettie. "The Power of Music Project has helped give these young artists permission to feel, think and process. - Very importantly, It has helped them discover that they can tell their story, from their perspective, with their own voice" said kRi. 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville and Whole Foods Market serve as POMP program partners. WFPK graciously provides the space for monthly workshops and shows and Whole Foods provides healthy meals and snacks. Providing additional support are Clifton Universalist Unitarian Church and Headliners Music Hall. The concert will be streamed live at http://bandtasy.com/schedule/ To arrange for interviews, on-air performances, photos, videos and/or quotes contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
