When I was a kid, "The Wizard of Oz" appeared on our black and white TV set once a year. From rural Minnesota I watched Judy Garland, in rural Kansas, dream of a place "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Now I'm living in the acoustic musician's mecca, Winfield, Kansas, and I've discovered that it's the closest thing to Oz a singer-songwriter could wish for.

I was driving home the back way, on the gravel road, thinking about how nice it feels sometimes to kick back and relax. I don't actually own a recliner, so I had to superimpose my image onto one I found on the internet when I sent the song out to friends; it was deliciously cheesy! ;o) But the "easy chair" as a state of mind is a place I can find p...
