I’ve been playing and singing since I can remember. I don’t remember learning to play the piano, or learning to read music. It’s like talking; I learned it so early that I never question it as a form of communication.

Vox Presents Keith Pulvermacher with Kurt Dovenbarger The Vox Concert Series presents Keith Pulvermacher at Wildwood Station in Wildwood Park on Saturday January 28th, 2012. We welcome Kurt Dovenbarger as our opening act. Doors for this event will open at 6:30pm with show starting at 7:00pm at Wildwood Station Pavilion. Tickets will be available at the door the evening of the show for $15 or $13 in advance online at http://www.voxconcertseries.com until end of day on January 27th. Keith Pulvermacher started his music career at an early age being born into a very musical family. Inspired by the blues, jazz, old R&B, rock, folk, country, and pop music, Keith was moved by any music that had good riffs, heavy grooves, great lyrics, and strong melodic hooks. Keith has played over 3000 gigs from Milwaukee, to New York, from L.A to London, from Nashville to Jamaica. Keith has recorded on hundreds of tracks working with Grammy award winning artists. He also understands music is not limited to labels and trophies and can be created everywhere by everybody. Keith is still driven by good riffs, heavy grooves, great lyrics, and strong melodic hooks no matter where they come from. Keith is an experienced recording and solo artist, first call session player, songwriter, producer, teacher, and now record label owner looking to continue to grow and to help others grow musically and personally. The opening act is musician Kurt Dovenbarger, who lives in Central Wisconsin with his son Kade. A UW-Milwaukee alumnus with a degree in music, he has more than 25 years of music experience performing, writing, studio engineering/ producing, and teaching. Through it all he continues to evolve as a performer, singer, and songwriter. From his rock roots as lead guitarist and vocalist for Milwaukee bands Three James Morgan and Tunnel Project, to his recently released album Kurt Dovenbarger - All the World, Dovenbarger has always appreciated music from a "purist's" standpoint. He describes songwriting as both a great love and an extreme source of frustration. "I've always tried to come up with something different - something that people haven't heard before. If during the song writing process a certain passage or riff sounds similar to something that's been done before……I immediately consider axing it! And over the years, I've discovered that sometimes a simple song is better than a complicated, highly-technical song. It's really heart and passion that makes a great song."
