JULES BENJI is a hot new artist from Manchester. He has played for many famous reggae artists including Don Campbell, Fredlocks the dreadlocks, Bob Andy, The Tamlins and even Rita Marley and the Ithrees.

Jules Benji was born in Manchester, UK, in 1975 and has worked and lived there most of his life. Jules had a keen passion for art and media. In 1989 he co-wrote his first ideas with childhood friend Mike Hart, working on his 1st feature film "Death's Domain" ( original title may be changed for screen play ).
In 1992 he enrolled in drama classes working on a play / movie drama " Dealers,users and the innocent", with local director Dennis Hanse and Richard Mason ( now working @ channel M ) and featuring a cameo role by Mr Zipps. He first began seriously studying music at the relatively late age of 19yrs, He gave his first public performance in a local talent competition in 1995 at the now closed, Nia Centre. Performing on the same night, were well known talents such as the Beverley Sisters, Mr Zipps ( or Zippa as he is known to his friends ) and featured over thirty new acts. Jules Benji came 5th overall, being beaten by, the now well known, Cleopatra in first place ( comin' atcha ).
Jules Benj worked with many artists and directors over the next few years, including Afrikans Abroad, Basil Otis and the Mystics, Untouchable promations and many more. In 1990 he teamed up with the TTI band in Manchester, and over the next 13 yrs worked with some of the most successful artists in the reggae world.
