Bio

Josephin is a rock n roll singer-songwriter-artist.
(Boston based, born and raised in Israel). Josephin's slogan is "fighting injustice with harmonics" and her solo album A Sonic Bomb deals with fighting injustices, hardships and even war with an “against all odds” attitude. You wont believe the energy, power and soul that comes out of this 1/2 pint woman!

About

Josephin has had the “stage bug” and the talent for making up catchy songs from a young age. But it wasn’t until she discovered 70’s-80’s punk acts such as Cock Sparrer, Stiff Little Fingers, and The Adicts that she solidified her song writing style into the infectious, empowering and heartfelt anthems she writes and sings today.

In her upcoming solo album (“A Sonic Bomb” -fighting injustice with harmonics) Josephin has combined lessons from her troubled homeland, Israel, and her love of 70s/80s punk bands with her other passion: Soul. She is obviously a student well versed in the styles of her heroes Etta James and Aretha Franklin.

Born and raised in Israel, Josephin was taught to read notation early on by her mother, a classical flutist and music teacher for 12 years, which helped train her sensitive ear. Josephin is a true performer starting from early childhood. She has played in front of crowds of hundreds, in theaters, on outdoor stages and in schools. Her experience ranges from soloing in choirs, taking the stage with her past bands, starring in dance recitals, recording a music videos to singing leads in various bands throughout the years.

Josephin was credited for singing backing vocals on Dropkick Murphy's "Warriors Code" album in '06. She has also been credited for recording and appearing in the music video of Boston’s based all-star Motown band Soul City.

In 2005 Josephin founded JO and the MFers (a showcase with help from her Boston crew: Dropkick Murphy's drummer Matt Kelly, Tommy and the Terrors Ryan Branigan and Lance Terror and The Tampoffs Greg Prestash) and went on to release the self titled EP “JO & the MFers”.

In 2006 Josephin founded Sonic Bomb with an ever-changing lineup. (The last lineup included Ben Cook III, Jesse Boudreau and Justin Raynolds).

Josephin’s drive and passion powered the band and in addition to booking the band’s shows, designing and producing all the band’s merchandise and logos, she was also the singer and songwriter of all the band’s songs to date.

In 2008 Josephin demoed the 15 songs for her upcoming solo album. She wrote, sang and played all instruments on the demo.

2009 Josephin’s solo album “A Sonic Bomb- fighting injustice with harmonics” is about to be recorded (with an army of local musician friends to back her up and various additional guests). In this album she combines the danceable fury of roots punk anthems and the soulful power of her big voice.

The Lyrics deal with fighting injustices, hardships and even war with an “against all odds” attitude.

Josephin brings something new, something exciting, a voice that breaks free from any formula.

She brings the truth of Punk, the heart of Soul, with a message of peace and freedom delivered straight from the heart with chutzpa!

It is no wonder Josephin’s trademark slogan is:

“Fighting injustice with harmonics!” TM
