About

Jonathan Penn is an Akron, OH musician, songwriter and performer. Though his music doesn't follow a specific genre (a problem many indie-eclectic artists have in common), his influences span Radiohead, Dave Matthews, The Beatles, and many artists in between. His distinctive style comes from his repertoire of original music and his penchant for the slightly absurd.

Though primarily a vocalist and guitarist, Jonathan enjoys exploring whatever tools he has in front of him to craft musical motion and poetry. His stubborn perfectionism and tinkering personality blend well as he ends up doing most of his own producing and arranging.

Jonathan not only has the pleasure of performing in a number of venues in Northeast Ohio (Musica, The Barking Spider, Thursday's Lounge, Fuel Lounge, Northside Club to name a few), but he's played international venues in Athens and Southeast Asia. His new album, A Transient Warehouse of Damaged Goods, is now available for purchase through his website, wavethenavel.com.

When not channeling his muse, he freelances with his B.S. in computer science, is finishing up a master's degree in religion, and lives in Akron with his wife, Colleen.
