On this night, I return to Bitter End Pub to play a gig. The last time I was here for music, I was with Huge Sally, and a video of us performing Popsicle is on YouTube. This was many, many years ago. I have great memories of the place, and really glad that they are reinstating their music scene. I will perform with my new, undefinable, quirky crazy trio with John Rankin and Jackson Conrad, formerly of the Portland band Commonly Courteous (disbanded, or undergoing a makeover, or on hiatus, or something...ask them for details...) Hope to see you downtown on this night!

Live music from 8p-11p. Maher's in Lake O has long been a proud supporter of not only local music, but authentic irish culture. Their food is awesome, they have irish beer and cider on tap, and they are traditional in every way. Including the way in which they treat every customer with decency and fairness. Cheers to them! I attended Peter Duff's open mic on Wednesday December 10th, and it was a great experience. I really like the vibe, and you will too. See you there...

Q: Okay, now i have seen you play guitar and the violin... which got me wondering... Which instrument did you learn to play first? Do you like playing one more then the other one? if so which? and why?
A: Thanks for asking, Kate! I started on violin when I was 4, and then found a guitar in my parent's basement at 16. Playing violin gave me an excellent foundation and appreciate for music; and, guitar gave me a much needed creative-outlet. I enjoy playing both, but because I taught myself how to play guitar, I feel like it represents me more.
