“PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 16, 2012 - Jimmy Parker and "Thought I'd Be Home By Now" has easily shown why he is king with a decisive hold on the most requested song on KHXI-FM. This multi-talented artist has shown that his passion for his music and the endearing story lines pull the listener in and tears at the heart. His brand of music can only be described as "pure and genuine country". Once again our listeners have shown that the Independent artists is a force to be recognized, as the likes of Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and other national artists have fallen to the wayside and didn't even make it to the top 15 artists. This week was indeed a week of reckoning as Amy Rose and "Redneck Reunion" came in second. TJ Maddux and "Homegrown Country Girl" is third, Lynn Hooker's "Good ole' Boys" is fourth, Carl Grimes "Just a Plain Piece of Cloth" , Doug Briney is 6th, Angie Rosener is 7th, Mike Archer is 8th, Mike Lynn is 9th and a real surprise, John Conlee with "They Also Serve"”
Ask Jimmy Parker anything...
Q: HOW LONG HAVE U BEING SINGING FOR.AND HOW DID U GET STARTED.
A: I started singing when I was 13...many moons ago...LOL. It wasn't until I took matters into my own hands and quit chasing the dream and started living my dream in 2004. I left the music row scene to its own and started creating my own doors instead of knocking on theirs. I do my own thing...stay true to my roots and the kind of music I love. I just recently finished my fifth CD, signed with CMG Nashville this past august (2012) and have now had 4 top ten songs in the IMN Country Charts in Los Angeles. One of those songs, "Daddy," was in the top ten for 37 weeks, debuting at #1 and reaching #1 twice more. My fan base is growing everyday. How did I get started? I started by just doing it and singing wherever I could and surrounding myself with people to work with who were better than me. That lifted my game up and made a not only a better artist, but a better person as well. Thank you for your question.
