THE STOOP CONCERT SERIES CELEBRATES ITS 7TH SEASON WITH JESSY TOMSKO, ASHLEY DANEMAN, & COURTNEY WONG SEPTEMBER 20TH NYC indie bands showcased at Hell’s Kitchen landmark Church For All Nations. NEW YORK, New York – August 4, 2014 – The Stoop, a distinctive music venue in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, is thrilled to present the Kick-Off of its 7th Season featuring bands fronted by Jessy Tomsko, Ashley Daneman, and Courtney Wong on Saturday, September 20th. Jessy Tomsko has a love for music that transcends the simple pop tunes that plague much of today’s music scene. With her inspired lyrics and catchy melodies, Jessy celebrates life and love in her acoustic renditions brought to life on the many stages of New York City. She’s also had the honor of sharing the stage with artists such as David Berkeley, James Maddock, John Francis, Amber Rubarth, and Ari Hest among many others. In 2011, she teamed up with Concerthouse Music Management and Blue Pie Records. Her music has been called, "heartfelt and poignant. Her...style will win you over." – Women of Substance Radio Ashley Daneman creates expressive audio landscapes at the intersection of jazz and modern folk music described as “…an uncompromising concoction of subtle and intimate jazz with a touch of hipster singer-songwriter,” (West Michigan Jazz Society). USA Today calls Ashley “a fine young jazz vocalist,” who honed her chops in Washington, D.C. and New York City. “Ashley owns a decidedly individualistic style and a willingness to take interpretive risks,” says All About Jazz. Courtney Wong is not only a talented singer-songwriter but is also a New York City Urban Project Artist working to bring awareness to and combat the issues of urban poverty and suffering through her music. She recently celebrated the release of her newest album, “Release. Revive. Right on Time.” live at The Stoop. In 2012, she released her first official music video for “Taking a Stand” and won the 2012 Campus MovieFest Elfenworks Social Justice Award. For her work, Courtney has been featured by World Vision and MTV. The event will be emceed by Chris MacIntosh (aka “Grandfather Rock”) of WCWP Radio’s “Rock N Soul Gospel”. Doors open at 7:30 pm., and showtime is at 8pm. Arrive prior to the show for a personalized hand-drawn sketched portrait by artist Ellen Stedfeld, who will also be live sketching the event (EllesaurArts.com).
