I have been playing, writing, singing, and procrastinating since a very young age (5 or so to be exact). After taking a few hiatus' from finishing a Music Degree @ Concordia, I decided to venture out into the great
My first "settling" was with The Urban Element, a combination of Chris Cameron's production and electronic music construction knowledge/talent, and my more folky, jazzy vocal melody thingy that I do. This project led to two deals with King-A-Groove Records on two separate compilations entitled The Future Sounds of Montreal and FSM2. Later The Urban Element turned into a quartet leading us to a new improved sound with the help of great friends and fellow musician Ben Turenne and Mona Elgrably. Our new endeavour as a foursome led to the band Jet Roulette which wrote and performed under a new lable Protomusik Records.
Protomusik's collective, supportive, and highly active vibes began to inspire me to keep momentum and start thinking about all the experiences and options available - all the endless possibilities to grow, and learn, and develop musically. Through Protomusik's many talented artists and friends, I met Louis Deering and Jono Hunt who invited me (after so long of admiring their performances from the audience) to join their already established, fun-loving, funked-out and groovin' hip-hop ensemble Typecast where I would play keyboards and sing vocals over some wicked tunes. Typecast has played many venues since their full formation including Le Sala Rosa, Jello Bar, Les Minots, The Maverick (ottawa), and other venues in Toronto and Montreal.
I'm also lending my voice and occasional songs to another great band: Laurel Jackson and The Attractives, Laurel and I have been combining efforts and performing around
my solo project is slowly piecing itself together with the help of really incredible artists who I love and who give me great suggestions and support. I know that there are thoughts, sounds, and images I have to intake and expel and this is so important to me. Art, music, connections musically and emotionally, passion, excitement, and openness for people and for yourself, producing those things and expressing them are all the things that make life meaningful in my opinion.
