“Completely blown away by Jen’s new CD, I OF THE STORM! The arrangement she chose for traditional favorite, “In the Pines” is one of the best renditions I’ve heard in recent years. All of the songs are heartfelt masterpieces. Each one uniquely different from the other, which I loved. Quite often you hear so much similarity between songs. She has managed to include several genres in her collection of songs. Although deemed “folk”, she’s incorporated some blues with some traditional bluegrass arrangements along with a native American flare mixed in. Beautiful images emerge from her words. I would compare parts of her songs to the likes of folk favorite, Kate MacLeod . Her voice range is excellent. The instrumentation is wonderful and carefully chosen in each piece.
