Bio
Less words, more rock. 3 and 4 minute rock songs that you'll be humming later on in the day. You don't want to be reading this anyway. Just go listen to the tunes. I promise you'll like them.
About
This is the part where I'm supposed to wow you with superlatives and hyperbole and other SAT words you promised you'd never use, right?
Screw that noise. Here's the deal.
I spent years as the guitarist, sometimes singer, and main songwriter for the New Jersey bands Perfect Crime & Dysfunction Junction. If there was a place to play in NJ, we probably hit it. Stone Pony? Fastlane? The Saint? Check. Check. Check. We made some good music, even better friends, and generally had a great time. If you were there, thanks a million.
Then life happens, you know...Jimmy quits, Joey gets married, that kinda stuff. Sometimes it seems unavoidable. The guitars go in their cases or get hung in their stands, and your find yourself playing along to the theme song for the Yankees Pregame instead of writing new music.
One day I noticed that over the past few years, I had actually written enough quality songs that I should really consider recording them for something other than listening to in the car. That same week, I got an email out of the blue from an old friend, Pete. We got to talking and he said, "Man, if you get to recording the new songs, I'd love to work on them with you."
Enter our friend the Internet. Simply put, none of this would have been possible without the magic of the Intertubes. Everything on this album was recorded in my home, uploaded to Pete in Los Angeles, and passed back and forth until we were satisfied with the results.
I started out with about 17 or so songs that I was considering, as well as taking a look at all of the old school stuff. I think the 12 that made the cut represent a bit of where I've been, where I am now, and hopefully where I'm going. There's a wide variety of styles on the album, but I think it all makes sense. If the Beatles could put Blackbird and Helter Skelter on the same album, then I say all bets are off.
Check out the music. Let me know what you think, and if you enjoy it, please spread the word.
The album is called Solo, and it's set to release in the Fall of 2009. Sign up for the email list, and I'll keep you updated.
