Dan Griffin is one of Arizona's finest guitarists. As a student of the instrument for 42 years, including a stint a North Texas where he was lucky enough to study with Herb Ellis. I think there is too much emphasis on "technique" (ie: blazingly fast lines) I know it's important to be able to play that way, but it's easy to overdo it. Kind of like watching a monster movie, how boring would it get if you saw the monster in every scene? It's much more interesting and exciting when the monster just turns up unexpectedly.
