About
Aiight yall, Instead of startin1 this off like my name is blah blah blah..... I think I'll just tell you who I am briefly to introduce my self to everybody who doesn't know me.
My stage name is Jay-Five which is just coincidence that my initials are J F so please don't think that I planned it out like that. Actually, I've been getting' called that since 4th grade. My life started out crazy I was born in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh but moved to Brooklyn, New York with my Uncle Johnny where I lived until I was about five years old. At age five I moved with my Grandparents to Warren, Oh where I currently live where it was a constant struggle?.. Sike we had struggles like every other middle class family in the hood I grew up in. We weren't super rich or anything' but we weren't dead broke either. I dealt with the usual stuff every teenage kid goes through but I kept a clear head and held it down. I was a bit of a class clown in school, but I did manage to graduate a year early from high school. My message to you is stay in school it helps.
Okay, time for the interesting stuff. I started rhymin? at age of five just making the words I knew rhyme (my first flows were stupid but it paid off later trust me). At age ten my God brother Kevin started this group called E.O.Z, that I was a part of and he actually wrote my first rhyme I recorded because I didn't know how to write my own rhymes yet. I loved to do music. We did a couple talent shows in Farrell, PA and around Warren, OH but after a while the group fell apart. So when I was fifteen years old I started writing my own lyrics (and the first ones were trash but every emcee has the stage where rhymes are trash I had to start some where right).
After that I started doing little open mic sessions then I hooked up wit two of my closest friends Tim Cayson (Chill) and Vince Alien (Shady) we used to freestyle in my garage for a few years back in 1995. We became a group called the USUWAL SUSPEXX in 1998. We performed in a talent show and took second place which got us $300 and that's when everything got real serious. Shortly after the show we hooked up this local group called the UndaWorid, they invited us to open up for Devin the Dude and we did a few shows with them. Me personally I've done the intro to a friend of mines radio show on 88.1(WZIP) DJ CHILL. I placed second in rap search and I am currently the reigning freestyle champ since 2002, due to a contest held by the IB/MC at Kent State University Trumbull Campus in Warren. I've done just about everything. As of right now I am doing' my thing with my crew of close friends Grimey Network and Non Stop Ent, as well as the PPF Family and I want to say when we get on. It's on......for real. I feel I have a gift that I want to share with the world, and to everybody that held me down and kept me focused, all the criticism good or otherwise I appreciate it all, it only adds fuel to my hunger.
