Few ever leave a performance of Janie’s without marveling at her rich vocals, passionate playing, and fresh approach to songwriting.  An Atlanta native, she attributes her unique indie pop sound to a myriad of influences -- from her piano upbringing, to her roots in the south and a diverse listening palette that includes such artists as Imogen Heap and Jump Little Children.  While anyone who has seen her on stage knows she loves to perform and share her music with others, her quest to keep making music stems from her own life experience.

Armed with commercial training and the influences of female alternative artists in the late nineties, Janie graduated from Belmont University’s Commercial Music program and returned to Atlanta to write and perform.  She recorded several demos and eventually worked with Matt Stanfield in Nashville to produce her debut album, "Roots". With the album release, Janie completed an east coast mini-tour as well as a brief foray into an FYE in-store tour.  She has since performed in renowned local venues such as Eddie's Attic, Red Light Cafe, 10 High, Vinyl and Smith's Olde Bar. Noted in 2006 as an IMWS showcase semi-finalist, and featured on a radio show of Atlanta based artists on 98.3 FM Whitley City shortly thereafter, Janie was also recognized as a keynote artist for the National Association of Asian-American Professionals in 2007.
