INVENTING THE GAME slides into my veins and spreads its claws deep, holding me with unrelenting insistence and a groove plowed clean, deep and dangerously direct.

Q: Great music James. Are you familiar with your ancestory?

A: Much less than I should be; I keep meaning to bother my relatives to talk more about it. I'm the youngest of my siblings, and I think I missed a lot of conversations, what with wanting to go out and play after dinner. I do know that my great-grandfather on my mother's side was a composer of choral music, under a fair number of different pen names, and his daughter, my grandmother, sang with two of her sisters on the radio in the 1930s in Chicago. Are YOU familiar with my ancestry?
