Izzy Cox ........is an anarchist crooner <br> she has coined the style Voodoobilly <br> Jazz as her own; <br> Influenced by old movie soundtracks, <br> Old time bar room blues and country singers.<br> Her lyrics are like diary entries.. <br> Stories of serial killers, buckaroo cowboys, <br> snake handlers and sports of nature .<br> **************<br> She had a unusual childhood, for the <br> formative years of her life she would <br> live part of her years in rural texas, and <br> then in french canadian montreal.<br> Throughout her moving around she was <br> part of a religious organization where <br> she played in marching bands.<br> At the age of twelve she found <br> the traveling bug, she lived and worked <br> in horse racing tracks, traveled with circuses <br> and took part of many early punk rock mosh pits..<br> ***************<br> All by the age of sixteen..<br> At sixteen she released her <br> first two tape track recordings..<br> while she was locked up in <br> young juvenile delinquent<br> Institutions.<br> And has never turned back..<br> Till she was 27 years she was involved with a <br> leading and progressive musical movement <br> in montreal putting out 10 records and<br> playing 4-6 night a week... ..basically the top 20 <br> of independent music today..<br> ***************<br> After a 15 year career in the East Coast<br> She caught a Greyhound to Hollywood<br> California...<br> *************<br> At a backyard vegan barbeque hootenanny in<br> silverlake, she met guitar player Billy Pitman, who, up to<br> that time had played with pretty much everybody he would<br> want to (Jimmie Vaughan, Hubert Sumlin, Janis<br> Martin, Gatemouth Brown, LouAnn Barton, Billy Gibbons,<br> Brian from KIX, Rev.
