“Thanks very much for the lessons, Irene Managed to come on leaps and bounds in just a few weeks! x”

“She describes her music as played from the heart - moody, melodic and romantic. Singer-pianist Irene Pirrera has been performing on a regular basis at bars and restaurants in and around Huddersfield. Now she is on the lookout for further dates as some closures around the Huddersfield area have left a gap in her schedule. Irene is living in Shepley after 23 years in the Netherlands and three in Australia. She describes her family as a "macaroni" of nationalities. Irene has Italian parents, her son Nile was born in Australia, her daughter Chloe in Holland and their father is Dutch-Australian. Unsurprisingly, she speaks fluent Dutch and Italian, gets by in French and knows bits of Swedish, Spanish and German. She even knows a smattering of Japanese words. But back to the music. Irene plays piano/keyboard and sings her own stuff plus covers, with a heavy dose of 70's 80's material. She describes Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush as a real inspiration and would love to play with Jools Holland.”

“Sorry for the late review of the sessions July 2012. We started with Robert Sharp who is a cutting edge folk/rock singer.A lovely lad. Next up was Tom Craggs who together with Mr Mather & Mr Harley made up Basto V. Tom wrote 4 new songs for the sessions which were received extremely well.He also did a cover of riders on the storm. He was brilliant, a talented singer, musician & song writer.Well done. Our last act was Irene Pirrera. She is the true piano girl. A beautiful singer and pianist, chilling whilst Irene serenades you is a treat indeed. Plus she did one or two unusual requests which had the audience in stitches. She is very talented. Thank you to all our acts for a splendid night.Come and support the event on the First Saturday of every month. The infamous raffle raises money for the senior citizens Christmas lunch AND for the gala pot for next year, which don't forget raised £2000 for the school, preschool, chapel & football club this year.Entry-free”
