About
Offical Website www.heatherfrahn.com
Heather's creative motivation is to generate positive energy in the world and to share her musical talents for the benefit of others.
Heather Frahn is not just a singer songwriter. She is an instrument inventor, event producer, multi instrumentalist, music teacher & inspiration to many. Over the years her music has taken her on a journey into several creative outlets including performing solo and with her trio, sound design for theatre and film, ambient music for healing, leading workshops with diverse groups of people (singing, percussion, songwriting, recording and sound healing), playing unusual instruments ('steel drum harp' and 'hybrid guitar bass'). Heather’s work has ventured anywhere from theatre companies to hospital wards to community centers.
HER BEGINNING: Heather started playing guitar and singing in early childhood. She grew up in a farming community isolated from most musical learning opportunities. Instead she would listen to her mum’s records and learn to sing and play them “by ear”. The lack of any formal music training brought Heather to discover music directly ‘from the heart’ and not the head… and it’s in this special way that she continues to present her music.
Heather started writing her own songs early and with an obvious natural talent for music, she was encouraged to record her first demo tape of original songs in 1994 at age 14. From this, her performance career took off as the word spread through the local arts industry about her astoundingly mature voice. Heather soon became engaged in professional music concerts and theatre productions in Adelaide, while also going through secondary school. Heather has continued on to receive great accolades, winning music awards, releasing critically acclaimed cd’s, opening the stage for many renowned musicians and performing live on music festival stages. Please refer to condensed career highlights on the last page for details.
HER MUSIC & VOICE: Heather’s diverse musicality developed through exploration in different musical styles including folk, rock, jazz, world, electronic, instrumental and improvised. She has performed with an array of instruments including double bass, mandola, 8 stringed hybrid guitar-bass, 12 string guitar, lap slide guitar, Turkish saz, Irish bouzouki as well as djembe drums, stomp box and foot percussion, ocarina flute, singing bowls and anything else she can get her hands on!
There is no doubt that one of Heather’s greatest gifts is her voice. Her vocals are astounding and dynamic. Her vocal tonality, precision and raw passion stirs audiences in her live performances and it’s Heather’s dedication to vocal development that has taken her singing into areas including harmonic singing, jazz scatting, Sanskrit mantra and beat boxing. Heather’s earthy songs resonate with audiences where ever she goes because she combines her powerful voice with uplifting grooves and mindful messages, pioneering the ‘conscious music movement’ in Australia.
HER VISION: Heather Frahn is part of a special breed of musicians and songwriters out there who are pioneering the Conscious Music Movement. These artists are asking the big questions about life, death, spirituality, humanity and the universe, and are responding to what’s happening in our world currently. These artists form the Conscious Music Movement. As the world’s consciousness evolves, so does all art as a reflection, and also a guiding light. As modern day artists become a part of this global shift in awareness, we are seeing more artists writing about their experiences and wisdom, and using their musical gifts to promote healthy living in all ways, spiritually, mentally and environmentally.
Heather’s lyrical honesty invites the ears, heart and soul of the listener. Writing with intent reflecting upon humanity with personal and global awareness in her words, she is greatly inspired by authors like Eckhart Tolle, Osho and Paulo Coelho. Heather’s “from the heart” and conscious lyrics, express lessons learned and explore questions asked about humanitarian, philosophical, social, spiritual & political issues that are common to human beings globally.
Heather’s lyrical and musical heart aspires to promote a global community as part of the Conscious Music Movement.

The Harmonic Project
The Harmonic Project is an ambient live music experience which inspires a very deep listening to the sea of floating harmonics produced by Tibetan singing bowls, Chinese chao gong, plus custom built instruments the steel drum harp and soul orb melodic meditation drums. Heather's etherial vocal harmonic singing is also part of the mix. Heather is joined by musician Michael Farrel who plays the Soul Orb melodic meditation drums and quartz singing bowl.
The Harmonic Project invites you to come in... take off your shoes... sit or lay down on comfy cushions... and just... Be.
A mesmerising and truly unique live musical experience which can touch the listener in a profound way bringing a sense of being weightless, restful, silent and with hightened awareness.
