Grubstake is a group that started in Boston in the late 90’s & relocated to head ‘Staker P.W. McHugh’s hometown of Philly in 2005. Since then the group has split into 2 entities: The Grubbies who play punk rock, and The Roots Project which eschews drums and rock clubs for a more intimate and stripped down mix of covers and originals with a penchant for the seedy and sublime.
