“Grim Dylan play punky edged rock music with a true riot grrrl grunge that any of their influences and inspirations would be proud of”

“Normally I receive things from bands to sample, but this time I had to write to the band. I stumbled across the songs on myspace and found them pretty awesome. This is therefore no normal review, but rather an introduction to the band. Grim Dylan are 3 girls from Derbyshire who sweeten the day with 4 mp3s. Their mix of Old School English Punk with Grunge influences and brilliant vocals (particularly of ‘Don’t like you’) absolutely amazes me! This is Punk rock as it should be; not clean, or perfect, not over-produced, but a beautiful ensemble that hits you in the face. On top of that is the fact that they produce everything themselves; their CDs are burned on the guitarist’s laptop, and they even make their videos themselves. Definitively 100% Punk rock and 100% DIY. I think much more can be expected of Grim Dylan and I am eagerly awaiting their first album!

“"As the crowd frantically congregate at the front, a long time waiting for Grim Dylan to kick off with their first gig of the year, you could almost hear the satisfaction when the trio began. Grim Dylan clearly have a following and rightly so, a young, developing, enthusiastic all girl grunge band who mix their set with 90s covers such as Nirvanas Aneurysm - to which Vicky strummed like her life depended on it, to the less grungey sound of the cranberries Zombie, where Suki his those shrilling notes with ease. Their own songs were just as catchy with Ro, the drummer, impressively rocking out and inspiring some crowd members to partake in a bit of air drumming" ”

“Full of energy and attitude Grim Dylan gave another great account of themselves tonight. A well balanced mix of rock tinged punk and grunge, this young band deliver a very powerful set, Playing mainly their own material (with a couple of well played and fitting covers) it's great seeing this band grow with each gig they do. Grim Dylan are already a great bandwho deliver a great live set and will only get better with time. judging them on tonights performance they are definitely a band to look out for in the future”

“Grim Dylan were next up who are a band who I predict a big future for. Tonight they were without their drummer Ro, but in true rock’n’roll ‘the show must go on’ style Vicki and Suki did an acoustic set which really showcased just how well these girls can play and really highlighted just how good a voice vocalist Suki actually has.

“Punk bands at the moment concentrate on one of a few things - a concept, a frontman/woman, a clothing type, a scene, an image. Grim Dylan are not one of these bands. They rely on great music. Taking punk back to its roots, dirty, raw yet fucking amazing”
