Q: How do you get such pro sounding mixes?

A: Thanks for your comment/question. This subject can go deep and easily exceed 500 pages. I'll keep it brief; it's a labor of love and not so much the tools used, in fact anything can be done on a mere pittance (budget)! The key; is 'the song' and having knowledge and confidence, keeping a good balance / perspective, also the way all the instruments are composed / arranged in a way that they compliment one another. I usually start with the vocals / main melodies as the main guide whereas others may start with for example; the beat. Each to their own I guess. Always capturing a great 'vibe', 'feel' at every step of the way is very important too as each sound/instrument plays an important part.
