Green Sunshine brings the funk to Red Light Café! Now pass me some of those peas... Green Sunshine is the quintessential late-night party band. Fronted by MC's Reason and Rhyme, and the powerful, sultry vocals of Miss Motown Tea, Green Sunshine has put its own spin on what it means to be a performing Hip-Hop / Funk band. The coordination of the musicians is something you can not only hear, but feel, as you find yourself inexplicably drawn to the center of the dance floor. With a funky groove that can neither be quantized nor quantified, you will find yourself drawn back, time and time again, to bask in the Green Sunshine. The Stone Shakers return to Red Light Café yet again for more bone-rattlin' blues / rock swagger. "We are you, The Shakers of Stone: Shattered and bare-boned as fragile skin-shelled minds redefine perspective again and again, listening for the sounds that will bring the dead to life one more time!" Yup, you'll see… Lauren Jones and the Current started when Yanic Small overheard Lauren singing Jill Scott's "He Loves Me". From there they spent countless nights writing, singing, and making music. Seeing the impact Lauren's voice has on her audiences, Yanic decided to augment her sound with a soulful bass and atmospheric guitar touches. In addition to Yanic, that's where Tim Allen came in respectively. Not only do they compliment Lauren's sound, but if one of them takes the melody, Lauren's voice becomes an instrument itself as it playfully floats around the bass and guitar. Then there's Jim Dykstra on drumset. Jim's playing is the heartbeat of the group. With each pulse you not only feel more alive, but you can't help but smile as he controls the rhythm of your soul. Aviva and The Flying Penguins' uplifting, moving, belly-shakin melodies will vibrate in your heart and soul as you are inspired to shine out with who you are every day and night!
