Questions

Ask Gina "G" Osmar anything...

Q: Drummers are attractive to rock where a high volume of energy, and the names of the groups that you like suggest this. But what about "Smooth Jazz" where no singing is involved, and the tempo is low.

A: I will play anything... and I have. I just want to be on stage playing, that's my passion. At 11 years old I was the studio drummer for a number of country singers in Nashville. I wasn't real familiar with country artists but I knew the standard 3/4 time and half-time shuffles. It just worked! I currently play everything from Johnny Cash to AudioSlave. Currently I have been concentrating a lot more on various jazz styles. I think you need to understand and be open to all styles in todays music world. Blessings! "G"
