““Where do the birds go? takes inspiration from folk, blues, bluegrass, riverside jazz and other folksy styles deep-rooted in the South, the combo blends them in tasteful ways that brush away the cobwebs while retaining the traditional elements and haunting charms of the music. Birds, the Fireflies’ second album, is a definitive step forward for the group, expanding their creative palette with added stylistic variety and instrumentation, not to mention a newfound emphasis on original material, much of which constitutes the album’s numerous high points.””
