Flawed Genius   

 If you are travelingthrough England's West Country, near Corscombe, West Dorset, at night and you hear strange sounds coming from some old farm buildings, don’t get alarmed, it is probably only Flawed Genius finishing off their new CD “Fighting the Words”.

The Muslim call to prayer; mad preachers telling you to “give all your money to Jesus”; a disapproving rant about the way “the whole country is going to the dogs”; drunken Russians singing on trains; and the most annoying telephone call centre voices you have ever heard - all feature on the album.

It conjures up a world where the Devil is a louche lounge lizard, watching the drunken slurred fumblings of sexual obsession; where religions are strangely warped so you never know whether the voices that whisper to you are God or the Devil; where wealth and hunger clash; and we try to hang on to our common humanity through the wars of words.

And more than that – it is very funny!

Flawed Genius’s very individual style is an eclectic mix including jazz, funk, and World Music which developed out of "sessions" at various places in and around Bridport.

The song-writing heart of the band is Bruce Douglas and Dan Bendel.  Chris Brake’s funky bass-lines drive the music along and producer Keith Brake, like a demented mixture of George Martin, Phil Spector, Mad Professor and Dr Dre brings edgy excitement to the music.
