Fischerspooner is a collaborative art and performance project created by Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner that makes music, dance, fashion, film and photography. After their 1998 debut at the Astor Place Starbucks, early shows at P.S.1's Warm-Up series and a staging within Rikrit Tiravanija's “Apartment 21” installation led to a series of acclaimed marathon gallery performances at Gavin Brown's enterprise, in 2000, and at Deitch Projects, in 2002. Their music has been released on two full-length albums, #1 and Odyssey, and the underground hit “Emerge” cracked the UK Top 40, landing them an appearance on Top of the Pops. Songwriting collaborators for Odyssey included David Byrne, Linda Perry, Mirwais, and Susan Sontag. Fischerspooner have headlined clubs and festivals across the United States and Europe. In 2005, they had a summer-long residency at Ibiza's Man-U-Mission, the largest nightclub in the world. Currently, Casey appears in the Wooster Group production Hamlet, for which Fischerspooner contributed two original songs composed to excerpts of Shakespeare's text.

Fischerspooner is working on a book chronicling the cycle of work related to #1 and recording songs for their third album with producer Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, The Black Keys, The Sounds).  Two of these songs are being released on the French label Kitsune on February 4th & March 10th, 2008 with performances to follow!
