Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, in 2007 FAR-West set up the Howard Larman Memorial Scholarship Fund to help artists with financial need attend the annual FAR-West conference. (FAR-West is tghe western-most region of Folk Alliance International.) Howard, who with his wife Roz, co-founded the long running FolkScene radio program, passed away in April 2007. Howard and Roz were on the founding committee of FAR-West and have truly been pillars of the acoustic music scene for more than 35 years. Currently, Susie Glaze is chair of the Howard Larman Memorial Scholarship Fund. Susie has organized this Winter Variety Show as a fundraiser with four prominent southern California acoustic acts: The Koles, Tracy Newman and the Reinforcements, Ernest Troost, and John Zipperer and Friends. $20 donation (proceeds will go to the Howard Larman Memorial Scholarship Fund.) No refunds, no exchanges. Potluck desserts, coffee and soft drinks will be provided. Please feel free to add to the dessert table.
