“The album opens with the track “Speeding On A Highway” which certainly does a fitting job of describing the feeling of the music. The late 70s early 80s influence is clear on this track. The guitar playing on this track is absolutely killer; it is fast paced without being overbearing. What is most compelling about this track is how well Emina’s voice really shines through the music. On “Long Lost Trace” Emina’s voice opens up sounding reserved but by the time the chorus hits the guitars and drums begin to really kick in and her voice takes flight. A highlight of the album is the ballad “I’m Leaving.” No hard rock album would be complete without the classic ballad, and on “I’m Leaving” Enima goes for it with complete success. If by the time the line “Don’t ever follow me I’m not who you want me to be” kicks in and you aren’t fist pumping then this album probably isn’t for you. ”

“What first struck me when diving into Emina Rock’s album was the power of the lead singer’s voice. A combination of hard rock wails and bluesy soul stood out on the first listen. Amazing power and control along with a vulnerability makes it quite appealing. I would compare the voice to Amy Lee, Johnette Napolitano or Gwen Stefani on certain tracks. Soaring vocals really shine on this album. Overall, the vocals along with the searing guitar work and driving percussion create instant comparisons to Ritchie Blackmore era Deep Purple, early Whitesnake or perhaps April Wine ... I think the record has a good mix of rockers and ballads which help keep the listener interested. The lead vocalist’s style would lend itself even better to pop rock. Overall the style feels a slight bit could certainly imagine hearing some of these tracks on modern rock radio. ”
