Burning In The Sun

Emilia is born and raised in the swampland that is New Orleans and since Hurricane Katrina has found refuge in the beautiful city of Seattle. As of 2009 Emilia has formed Aasaus with another New Orleans transplant, Justin Marcellus. After a year long hiatus, she is getting back onstage and is writing her next album. The new sound is darker, dirtier, and more versatile than her previous album, staying true to the bands deep southern roots.

In the past,, Emilia has had the opportunity to record a kirtan with Krishna Das, Walter Becker, and Rick Allen and, in Seattle, work and record with Michael Shrieve, Shawn Smith, and Kevin Sawka.

In 2007, there were great responses to the release of her first full length album, the Rhythm of Life. So much that there was a Remix cd out that was on many different top ten dance charts across the country a has, since its release in December of 07, remained on the Dance Billboard Charts for almost 3 months.  Buring in the Sun, the Rhythm of Life, and the Remixes are all available online everywhere including i tunes
