About
New York's Dylan Nirvana & The Bad Flowers drive their sound with racy lyricism and a Blue-Lights-a-chasing-ya DWI-swerve.
Anglophile Dylan Nirvana parks his stolen car in a psychodelic glam garage. If the music sounds lifted from some cool secret record collection, it retains originality. But the influences are being felt across stylistic lines, by country and soul people as much as the dyed in the spandex Glam crowd. Multi-layered guitar, even live, is probably the most striking element, along with Dylan's (sometimes broken) glass vocals. The lyrics draw on psychological and even literary imagery. From Hollywood's Bukowsky to Ovid with a scratched eyeball.
Dylan Nirvana's first EP - Pentagonal Flower has gained attention for both the quality of the writing and its shear energy. Expect the writerly and rocking full-length CD Anne Boleyn to make an impression in more ways than one! Jeremy Green on Synth & Bass, Billy Ficca (from the legendary bands Television and The Waitresses) on Drums and Dylan Nirvana (Holden Caufield) on Guitars and Vocals. The new music video of Ganymede (with model Caitlyn Lyon) is currently in production with Engel Films.
Dylan has rocked it out at Shoreditch parties in London, 2007 M.E.A.N.Y. Fest (Musicians and Emerging Artists New York) and will hopefully be at the 2008 CMJ Music Marathon in New York this October. His performance at New York's legendary CBGB and The Continental has been made into a music video. (The song is KT-88). Additionally, Dylan has performed at Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, Pianos and Mercury Lounge, Warsaw, Continental, Luna, Lit Lounges, TLA in Philadelphia, Nietzches in Buffalo and shows and colleges from San Francisco to Telluride to St. Augustine. He was featured in (Bloc Party) South London's Brockley Max Festival, and has received national press and college radio play including: 91.7 KOTO Radio in Telluride, Colorado; 88.7 WBFO in Buffalo, New York; 90.3 WRPR Ramapo College Radio; 91.9 WNTI Centenary College; 88.7 WFNP Radio New Paltz; 88.5 WFCF Flagler College Radio; 90.3 KBUT Crested Butte, with a number pending adds.
Dylan Nirvana is a BMI songwriter and a member of NACA - MidAtlantic.
