“The Journey: A Duane Lee Experience” is an autobiographical evening of song expressing the evolution of an artist in search of his purpose through his passion for knowledge. As a competitive gymnast, Duane trained for the 1996 Olympic Team and was a member of dance companies Rennie Harris Puremovement and Ronald K. Brown/Evidence. In addition, he performed on Broadway in The Lion King and was featured in Maurice Hines’ Hot Feet. This evening, with his satin and soulful voice, through a selection of songs strongly influenced by Donny Hathaway, Duane’s discovery of ambition, spirituality, clarity and love are exposed. The Journey begins Friday, April 22, 2011, 9PM at The Triad Theater.
