““What could be better than a live band and free food on a Friday night,” said Mary Barkes, a Falls Church resident who came to First Friday with her kids. “Its great, the band is wonderful and Dave’s Barbecue is good.” This was the first installment of the First Friday series, which will be held on the first Friday of each month. The next two months will be outside and they will move the event indoors once the cold weather months come around. Falls Church residents were treated to live music, free barbecue, artwork, antique automobiles and more at First Friday. Doug Parks and The Lone Wolves entertained the crowd with his guitar heavy brand of blues. “My name is Doug Parks and I’m from right here in Falls Church, the blues capital of the world,” said Parks in between songs. “Great food, art exhibits, and just look at those cars, this is a great monthly event for ya’ll.” ”
