After all these years of waiting, the POWERCHORDS Battle of bands is back and is happening in SIES college. Four bands that will make it through this elims will be performing on stage on 24th of December 2011 for POWERCHORDS which is headlined by Providence. Rules for Eliminations: The eliminations will start at 8.00 am sharp on 21st Dec 2011 and go on till 6.00 pm in the evening with break for one hour between 1pm to 2pm. Each band gets a slot of 20mins (Including set up & play) Standard 5-piece drum-kit will be provided. Bands have to get their own double bass peddle, guitars, extra cables their other gears. Original compositions will be much preferable than covers. Result of the Eliminations will be declared the next day. 4 Bands will qualify for the main event (finals) where they will open for the headliners. Each band must be represented by a valid college I-Card for security purposes. Only 1 accompanist per band is allowed. General Rules: Everyone is subjected to frisking (cigarettes, lighter, matchboxes, alcohol NOT permitted). Organizers are not responsible for any of the bands' belongings; loss, damage or theft of the same. The decisions of the judges will be final.

Wildfire Prelims - Mumbai Leg feat. Providence All you rock and metal heads out there, the biggest rock band competition in the country is back again. Having gone nationwide for the first time last year, Wildfire is now bigger and better than ever. Get set for a much more extravagant edition of the event this time, with the prelims to be held in 5 cities namely Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati, not to mention the handsome prize money involved. With past editions of the event having witnessed the likes of Zygnema, Kryptos, Parikrama, Pentagram, Cassini's Division and more, get ready to experience the magic of rock in its new avatar at its very epicentre right here in IIT Kharagpur.
