“DevilMayCare displayed its brand of heavy Southern rock with songs from its forthcoming release War of the Worlds. Vocalist Scott Whitaker, guitarist John De La Rosa, bassist Warren Hammonds and drummer Darren Briller delighted their hometown crowd for 40 minutes, with a bulk of their tunes brandishing a military theme. "Kill or be Killed" was especially dedicated to the Armed Forces, with Hammonds playing his version of "The Star Spangled Banner" to introduce it. The bass is oftentimes hard to decipher at shows, somewhat treated as the rhythm section's red-headed stepchild by some bands. But DevilMayCare's bass sounded as if it was turned up to 11 throughout the set, thus avoiding being drowned out by the guitar and drums. All three instruments were refreshingly cohesive. The group has opened for the likes of Accept, and with continued hard work and support, it can be expected to grace the stage before more national acts in the future.”

““We’re big supporters of local bands. It’s the local bands that get recognized that becomes big bands. We caught a few songs from SA Territories, Eden Burning and Project Terror. But the second stage act that really caught our attention was Devilmaycare. Opening their set with Politics of War, I mean really! It rocked from the get go. I was a fan from the intro, sound, to the backdrop with the lights.
Devilmaycare had an incredible drummer (impressive kit), GREAT lighting and effects, and had the metal heads banging their skulls ways. So much so, when I was trying to get the shots for the mag, I had three head bangers next to me… Their hair kept getting in the shot! Like, “Dude, keep it metal but give me a few minutes to get some shots, put my camera away, and get this fuckin pit going!” Yes, DMC was pretty metal!
Later that night at the Back Stage Live after party, we caught up with DMC and emphasized their must to record their debut CD professionally.” Vocals Magazi”
