"Fehu-Fohat-Fire" has really great melodies which are what makes black metal such a fantastic style of music. A genre overlooked and misinterpreted by many who claim to love metal. For those who truly appreciate it you‘ll find this to be a raging but purifying experience. You have to know the subtly of hopelessness and lone darkness. Therefore, finding beauty in darkness.

“The closing song Burning Bridges Become Ashes. This sees Deviator switch back to their cold black metal sound. The rhythm section and the guitars seem a lot faster at times in this song, yet it still retains that melody which pleases me in black metal. It's kind of symphonic but not in a cheesy way. It adds a strong dimension to the album. That metal influence creeps in again at certain points, which again, is nice to hear. For someone who wasn't familiar with black metal below what was featured in the bigger metal publications, I feel at home listening to this. Fehu - Fohat - Fire is an assured record, which should help, gain Deviator more popularity, if they want it! It's well produced, well written and leaves you longing for eternal darkness!”

“The highlight of the album however is, Undying Darkness. Which is a strange song indeed. The song is not long nor short and has a semi melodic death metal riff with a few alternative versions to that one riff. Some could categorize this is a chaotic song, and that seems to have been intentionally done. The actually songs insanity comes from the vocal work. The opening starts off with a spoken word passage by Moloch’s Sergiy in native language, reminds me much of Burzum’s Dunkleheit, from there…the song will corrupt the mind. His shrieking wails are haunting and powerful and rather random. There is just a lot of different vocal types layered on top of one another, spoken clear words, eerie whispering, black metal wails and cries….with some growls. The track describes it well, complete darkness…reminiscent of something out of the Twilight Zone. There seems to be no pattern at all to the vocals of any kind. Just pure chaos and demented entanglement.”

“The first track, “Forgotten Hope,” builds up and slowly pulls in clouds of organic density from start to finish. You can envision the sun rising above snow-tipped mountains, a running creek, forests of trees with light pouring in through their roofs, classic folk instrumental images. “The Last Day of Mankind” starts to crack into the black metal stockpile when Hastner’s vocals come in. His screams are legible to the point that you can tell they’re in Ukrainian, which adds more to the densly forested folk impact of “Mighty Black Inner Flame.” ”
