Degrees of Separation do battle in EMERGENZA, the world's largest talent search! Your support is needed at The Espy Gershwin Room, 9:30pm Tuesday 27 March as we take battle in the 1st round of EMERGENZA! - Emergenza is the world's largest music festival solely dedicated to new and up-and-coming unsigned bands. It takes place in many major European cities as well as in North America, Asia, including Japan and Oceania. All groups, of any kind or origin, can participate, performing their own original songs. ""Covers"" are tolerated if given an "original touch". It is a musical marathon that encompasses some of the most prestigious international stages. From January to June, the bands participate in a knockout contest, progressing from heat to heat. At the end of each of the concerts, the audience votes for their favorite band of the evening. The band picked by the public then moves forward to the next stage of the Festival. The goal is to reach the International Final. The winners of which, then have the opportunity to perform a live showcase in the U.S.A. including South By South West in Texas or Popkomm in Berlin, Germany. - Each concert will have 8 bands playing, each band has 30 minutes time on stage: 25 for gigging and 5 minutes to set up. - At the end of each band’s show, the audience will vote if they enjoy the performance. The audience can vote for as many bands as they like. These votes will decide which bands will move on to the next round of the festival until the final round, where we introduce an international panel of judges. - In Melbourne the festival runs in 3 different rounds: the first at the Espy (in March), semifinal at the Hi-fi (in October), final at the Bilboards (in November). - The winning band from Melbourne will be flown at Emergenza's expense, to the Australian Final in Sydney. The winning band at the Australian Final will receive a paid trip to Germany in August to represent Australia at the Emergenza International Final, which is held at the Taubertal Open Air Festival. One of Europe's best open air events which attracts a crowd of over 25,000 people and international main acts such as Iggy Pop, The Hives, and Prodigy. - Presale tickets are a must for us to sell, so please come and support us so we have the chance to progress through to the next round and ultimately face off against the world’s best unsigned bands in Germany. Your help will be MUCH appreciated and acknowledged!
