Bio: I was introduced to music by a classically trained soprano and pianist mother. I listened to my parent's collection of folk music from the 60's including Bob Dylan and Joan Baez. I also enjoyed popular radio hits and Jerry Jeff Walker's annual performance at Austin College (Sherman, Tx.) in which... See Full Bio

Q: Is it true you sometimes compose original songs while climbing a ladder, painting houses, and driving an old beat up Toyota pickup?
A: Well, Ed, I don't actually compose them while climbing ladders, painting houses and driving my old truck. It's hard to hold my guitar and hang on to the ladder, or the steering wheel at the same time. But ideas for songs can certainly come at mundane times. One of the best places I get song material is from the newspaper. Truth is definitely stranger than fiction! As a matter of fact, I read this funny as hell story about an old man getting arrested at one of the Moral Monday marches. Come to find out he had inadvertently put his state issued NC driver's license in his Depends instead of the pocket of his pants and handed it over to the magistrate like that. When the magistrate asked the old man what he thought he was doing there. The old man responded that, " he wanted to start a movement" and that he was sorry that the state, in a budget crisis, had taken away the police station's plastic gloves and given them all to the Dept. of Health. I got a song outta that one!!! Blues in "E" boys!
