EL RENO NATIVE'S MUSIC A SOUNDTRACK OF HIS PERSONAL JOURNEY
Edition: Sunday, August 28, 2011
For El Reno native David Chamberlain, country music is not just songs about the ups and downs of life, drinking whiskey and driving a pickup truck, it's the soundtrack and biography to his own personal journey.

“EL RENO NATIVE'S MUSIC A SOUNDTRACK OF HIS PERSONAL JOURNEY
Edition: Sunday, August 28, 2011
Chamberlain was soon signed by Tate Publishing Group in Mustang. When asked why he didn't just head to Nashville like so many others before him, Chamberlain said Oklahoma and El Reno are still important to him.
“There's no place like home,” he said. “All these people are being raised up right around here - they've got the same values that they had a hundred years ago when their ancestors settled this place.”
Country music, he said – “It's just going back to our roots.”
So the latest step on the journey brings Chamberlain to a small family-owned ranch just outside Minco on another hot Oklahoma summer evening. Chamberlain is filming the video for his new single, “Cowboy Up on a Funky Bull” at the ranch owned by Monty and Kim Pack.

This was originally released in 2010 for Veterans Day, and now has a br...
