Bio
Dave Small, started hearing songs at the age of seven. His brother Britt showed him how to play guitar so he could start putting them down. Like most musicians Dave started playing in bands while still in school and began learning the functions of all the instuments and music available to him. The result is a writer who hears his songs in full arrangement from the start. Life has finally given him the time and experience to put it all together himself and let the material out into the world. We hope you enjoy these songs from a dedicated artist.

MORE BIG NEWS! The SLCD, SmallSongs I, has been released and is for sale at TRAX and Lemon Lady Beach on Second Life. We will do a wide digital release soon so the tracks will also be availble at all the usual retail outlets as well. IM Etierre Bonde on Second Life or Lemon Lady Records here for more info and landmarks.
Liner Notes and Credits from SmallSongs I SLCD:
By the time DaveSmall Finesmith graduated High School, he had written over one thousand songs. By the time Bullett, his main band, came together, he was approaching fifteen hundred minus 2 that weren't his. To say he was (and is) prolific is an understatement. By the time the band broke up around 1981, they had an original live set list of sixty five tunes, and drew a crowd with them, too. How many is he up to now?
Dave came out of Missouri and landed in Boulder, by way of Gainesville, FL, and Colorado Springs. He fronted the rock band Bullet, which was a popular and regular fixture in Boulder during the mid 70s to the early 80s, when Dave relocated to LA for one last run before disco and punk swallowed up guitar-based rock. They came very close a few times and recorded some demos and a single for some major labels.
Those days are over and Dave has matured in his writing and variety of material. He still likes to rock but puts together a pretty good ballad, too. He is now dabbling in world music beats and all of it defies easy classification or pigeonholing. Just when you think you can, he turns you in another direction. Like BrAiN DamAGe.
There is a little bit for everyone here. Or a lot."

NEWS! Check out the "Definitely a Star" review of Dave Small's recent Second Life gig at http://thump-thump.blogspot.com/search/label/DaveSmall%20Finesmith WOW, we knew all of it, of course, but to have it written just as we would say it, well, true praise, indeed. She reviews many of the songs here or you can just listen.
Dave is now giging on the Second Life Virtual Community, as DaveSmall Finesmith. He is, or rather, his avatar, is gigging at various Second Life clubs and he is streaming and singing live, both with his backing tracks and 'unplugged'. Get a free Second Life membership and come see him! Sign up with FanReach to receive gig dates and times. It is great fun, is like a computer game, and your avatar can dance the night away. It is almost like being there, even better, as you don't have to drive or get dressed (well, unless you have gone nuts buying clothes and looks for your avatar, and you can be as gorgeous or gross as you want!). Never any cover charges, tipping is the name of the game and in Second Life currency, tipping is minimal with the exchange rate. I dare you to find a cheaper night out, unless you get addicted. :) Check it out, it is definitely the wave of the future!
Dave is onto SmallSongs II and III already and we will post the tracks here as they come in. There are some great guest artists and some of his best work ever. Look for them!
We have remastered an album's worth of songs from Dave's previous band, Bullett. They are Dave's songs, except one, some of which he has updated for his solo albums, he is gigging them and the Bullett compilation is a great compliment to the SmallSongs series, you can hear where Dave came from, musically, and Dave fronting a rock band. Hear and buy the songs pending release of Bullett Proof at:
