Dave's Bio
Dave Brown “The Gospel Trumpet Player” has always possessed a love and a desire to play music. At the early age of ten, Dave was given the opportunity to join a community marching band where he learned to play the bugle. At the time he thought that it would be a fun experience. Little did he know that one day he would trade in his bugle for a trumpet and that God would use his talent to bless many. During his teenage years, Dave found an outlet to share his gift when he joined a local church Brass Band. It was with this band, along with playing in his home church, that he began to hone his trumpet skills and gain the confidence needed to launch out into his own ministry.
Dave has become well known in the gospel music community for his soulful style of trumpet playing and singing. His repertoire of music includes elements of traditional, contemporary, black gospel and jazz styles.
As a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Dave has functioned in the role of the National Music Director for the Eastern Canada region and has also served as the Praise and Worship leader at his local church for over 10 years. During his years of music ministry, Dave has had the opportunity to share the stage with many notable artists such as Alvin Slaughter, Fred Hammond, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Shirley Ceasar, Toronto Mass Choir, Hezekiah Walker and Phil Driscoll, to name a few.
In addition to concert venues, Dave participates regularly in National and International church conferences in Canada , the United States and the Caribbean . He also makes himself available to minister at church events, charities and corporate functions.
One of the highlights of Dave's ministry career came on Saturday, October 20, 2007 when in front of a sold out crowd, Dave released his debut album entitled “Instrument of Worship”. Filled with such awesome worship songs as “Agnus Dei”, “Above All”, “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever” and “Awesome God”, all who have heard this album agree that it is the first of many great works to come.
Dave is always willing to use his talent to share the love of God through music and to be a mentor to other young musicians. This anointed musician has a heart for worship and enjoys leading worship services at his church and wherever he is invited. He has dedicated his life and talent to God and as such, his deepest desire is to bless the world with the music and message that God has given him.
