Darren was the 2004 UK Songwriting Champion with his contagious pop song..."Reality", emphasing his worldclass songwriting standard.
Darren was a finalist (Aug 08) in the 2008 UK Songwriting Contest with his reflective/bluesy rock song, "Slippin' Away"; beating over 6000 entries from around the world. Darren has also received Honourable Mention's in the USA based...'Billboard','UNISONG' and 'Song Of The Year' contests, where guest judges included Beyonce.
