Bio

Dark Summer Dawn has showcased in the Florida Music Festival, Amplify Music Festival (Vegas) as well as Texas Rockfest, Red Gorilla, and Music Gorilla during SXSW. They’ve rocked the Republic of Texas Bike Rally, BatFest, Good Day Austin (FOX 7), and Local Licks Live (KLBJ). Their current self-titled release was produced by Mark Dufour (Ghostland Observatory, Blue October) and has received spins on KLBJ, KISS, KRBQ, KLFX, KISS, KXTE, and Cabo Wabo Radio (#1 Active Rock on Live365.com). They typically headline the Red Eyed Fly or The Parish, and many of the premier venues in Texas. DSD’s music is honest, and they perform them for live audiences in a memorable way.

About

DARK SUMMER DAWN is a band bursting with energy and melody. A convergence of the right chemistry has created a five-piece modern rock band based in Austin, destined for the national spotlight.

DARK SUMMER DAWN was originally formed as DEEJER in 2004. After showcasing in the Florida Music Festival, they recorded their 2005 debut release Grief Can Kill An Elephant with Pete Thornton (Cold, Shinedown, Limp Bizkit). It received spins on XM Unsigned, WKGB (Binghamton), KSPI (Oklahoma City), KMRJ (San Marcos), WARQ (Columbia, SC), KTCL (Denver), WCYY (Portland, ME), KUPD (Mesa, AZ), KLBJ (Austin), KNCN (Corpus Christi), KRBQ (Waco), KISS (San Antonio) and charted #27 in FMQB. They were featured in A&R Worldwide, Kings of A&R (KOAR), and were a national top 5 in the Musician’s Atlas Independent Music Awards.

In 2008, they headed into the studio with Mark Dufour (Ghostland Observatory, Blue October, Vertical Horizon) and released the now self-titled Dark Summer Dawn, a noticeably heavier sophomore effort. So far, it has garnered spins on KLBJ (Austin), KISS (San Antonio), KXTE (Las Vegas), KLFX (Killeen), KRBQ (Waco), 99.3 FM (Laredo) and Cabo Wabo Radio (Live365.com) and earned them a showcase in the 2008 Amplify Music Conference in Las Vegas. Currently, they will be releasing a video for the song Red Ink in January, and are touring extensively throughout Texas in support of their latest release.

From the emotionally charged song Farther Figure about the all-too-familiar wayward dad, to the fist-pounding FU to big politics in One Big Fist, their music and explosive live performances are resonating with music fans.

DARK SUMMER DAWN is endorsed by Michael Kelly Guitars and Traben Bass Co.
