Danny Tate / Press

“Check out this recent release by an artist with Arkansas roots who has songwriting credits as long as your arm. From Kenny Wayne Shepherd to Jeff Healey to Skynyrd to Tim McGraw… Danny Tate has had ten top ten’s and three number one’s credited. Tate now lends his wordsmith brilliance to his own interpretation through his gritty baritone vocal style. Remember when albums in any format had continuity of thought, not just a collection of what promoters think will sell? Tate takes us on his journey of life down “The Backstreets of Little Rock” and on to waking up in a Mexican jail, the dark and bright sides of love and relationships to that place where we simply accept that all the experiences that got us to this point have made us what we are. With unique creativity, he explores that path and the infinite desire “just to know what is real”, and seems to have learned to relax and let the journey continue to take him to a “Destination Unknown”.”

“Having followed Danny's songwriting progress for 25 years, this album shows a level of muturity that blows me away. The title track evokes flying through the desert in a 65 Vette convertible on a Jack Kerouac journey from town to town. With his confessional style, anything you want to know about Danny is on this album in songs like Talking to Me. Other stand out tracks for me were Catch the Wind, Dark Side of Love and Gospel According to Life. He pegged our old stomping grounds to a tee with Back Streets of Little Rock. With all the magnificent tunes he has written for everyone else, thank God he saved some great ones for himself. The whole world needs to hear this disc. Great job.”
