New Traditions Dulcimers

Who we are?

New Traditions Dulcimers began in the beauty of the Puget Sound in Washington State in 1982. We were originally located on Vashon Island and enjoyed many years in our island shop. New Traditions is now located in the mountains of Northern California. The town of Yreka is our home today. We serve most of the Pacific coast but have instruments in homes and on stages across the country, with dulcimers beginning at $325.00.

In our early years we had the advantage of being in the same area as Dusty Strings and Magical Strings we were able to learn and design our dulcimers to meet a variety of needs.  What a treat it was to be able to study the instruments of these great builders.

Our luthiery instruction came under the tutelage of master guitar builder Steven Davies of Seattle. New Traditions builds and repairs all type of string instruments serving the Northern California area of Siskiyou County and Southern Oregon.
