About
In the summer of 1997 I dissolved my band TEARS OF TIME, to join German Black Metal band DARK FORTRESS on guitar. I realised the playing the guitar would not satisfy me completely, so in the winter of the same year, I decided to found my solo project CROM. Initially, CROM was meant as a tribute to my favourite band Bathory. However working with DARK FORTRESS proved to be so time-consuming, that after having written three songs relatively fast I decided to temporarily suspend my work on CROM.
After three years and two albums I decided to leave DARK FORTRESS to concentrate on CROM. During these three years I had written about ten songs and produced a Promo (Promo 2000) and so already had an excellent platform from which to launch what was to become my main band, playing epic melodic metal. I revised two of the songs and wrote a new one, and on January 25 2002 I entered the Aexxys Art / Schwandorf studios to record "The Fallen Beauty" EP. However, the studio was refurbished immediately after recording and therefore the final mix was delayed and the CD not completed until June 2002. Another self-produced MCD followed on from "The Fallen Beauty" (Promo 2002).
Belgian artist Kris Verwimp has always been the obvious choice for the cover design since not only had be produced some classic covers for, amongst others, Immortal and Marduk, but he also had a good feel for the subject of my songs.
In 2005 I joined with former DARK FORTRESS vocalist AZATHOTH, to form SINDECADE, a Black Metal side project and released the "Terrorcrowned" MCD on my own label Noecreation Productions. This is purely a recording project and it is not intended to be a live band. You can hear SINDECADE's "Pitch Black Deserts" on the official SINDECADE page at www.mspace.com/sindecadeband.
CROM signed to Pure Steel Records in early 2008, and the new album "Vengeance" will be released on the 29th August.
