THE STOOP CONCERT SERIES PRESENTS BANDS FRONTED BY MARZ FERRER, ALLISON STRONG, & CORDELIA STEPHENS NOVEMBER 15TH NYC indie bands showcased at Hell’s Kitchen landmark Church For All Nations. NEW YORK, New York – The Stoop, a distinctive music venue in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, is thrilled to present bands fronted by Marz Ferrer, Allison Strong, and Cordelia Stephens on Saturday, November 15th. Marz Ferrer is an experimental alternative artist with a Hip-Hop inspired sound. Booming 808’s, obscure samples, and atmospheric pads create the backdrop in which her subtle yet powerful voice shines. With her captivating sultry voice, she invites her listeners into a world that speaks of love, truth, and faith. Her writing is often described as “poetically transparent” and her sincerity often pierces the heart of her listeners. Marz desires to create music that will connect with her listeners and to ultimately point to something more than self. With each haunting song, she seeks to bring hope to a world, which lacks sincerity and that is starving for authenticity. Allison Strong, multi-talented songwriter and performer, defies cultural boundaries composing in English and Spanish on piano and guitar. An alumna of the prestigious Johnny Mercer Songwriter’s Project and ASCAP’s Jerry Ragovoy Songwriter’s Workshop, Strong won two Hoboken Music awards for Outstanding Female Solo Artist and People’s Choice in 2013. She was recently flown to her mother's native Colombia as a featured celebrity for Diego Luna’s Documentary Series “Back Home” on the Fusion Network. She has opened for headliner Teddy Geiger, performed for former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, and appeared on stage at the White House, the Met Opera, and on Broadway in "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Mamma Mia". Her debut album, "March Towards The Sun", was released independently in August 2014. Cordelia Stephens is an English-American folk artist whose voice combines power and vulnerability, and whose incisive songwriting explores the contradictions of modern life and love drawing on her musical influences such as PJ Harvey, Aimee Mann and Gillian Welch. Her killer band, brings tremendous musicianship, humor, and energy to every show. She often performs more intimate duo shows with upright bassist Wayne Batchelor. Her debut album “Threshold”, produced by Riley McMahon at New Warsaw Studio, was officially released in a sold-out show at NYC’s The Living Room. She is currently in production on her second album. The event will be emceed by Chris MacIntosh (aka “Grandfather Rock”) of WCWP Radio’s “Rock N Soul Gospel”. Doors open at 7:30 pm., and showtime is at 8pm. While the concert is free/pay-what-you-wish, The Stoop will be accepting suggested donations of $12. Patrons will receive a free gift with the full suggested cover. All drinks and concessions including beer and wine are inexpensively priced under $5. The Stoop Concert Series and venue are presented by Music Forum of Church For All Nations, Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Church for All Nations is sponsoring the series in providing the landmark venue as a contribution to the cultural and spiritual life of Hell's Kitchen.
